Sardar Udham Review:- A Director's brilliance

When you live across a time where the movie industry is on a marathon to launch new biopics and heart-thumping jingoistic patriotic movies, it is quite a wonder to watch Sardar Udham, one of the best biopics produced in India. Coming from the acclaimed Shoojit Sircar , the biopic on Sardar Udham Singh, can literally be never classified as a Hindi movie. The plot of the movie delves into the journey of Sardar Udham Singh, known for assassinating Michael O’Dwyer in London to avenge the Jallainwala Bagh massacre of 1919 and the court proceedings that continue. It would be quite a cumbersome process to speak of a biographic plot, which keeps on shifting to different timelines in a non-linear format, yet keeps the viewers glued.  What makes Sardar Udham, a step apart from every other biopic is something that should be discussed:- Treatment :- As mentioned earlier that the movie cannot be classified as a Hindi movie because language is just considered as a medium to converse with another cha

One Malayalam Movie Review - A take on #RightToRecall and Democracy

Writer duo Bobby Sanjay has a storytelling history of coming up with some of the exceptional themes in the industry, most of which are worth a thought and this time is no exception, though a bit utopian.

One, written by the duo and directed by Santosh Vishwanath, speaks about a span of political episodes in the life of Kadakkal Chandran, Chief Minister of Kerala, and his effort to institute Right to Recall in state assembly, to recall unworthy representatives of people. The movie begins with one of the recent best over the top introduction scenes for the lead character, an havoc created by an anonymous Facebook post. The movie revisits some of the recent political scenarios that has come across the state, which all becomes an episode in the life of CM. Though it begins with a promissory tone, it felt like the writing lost its transition into hollowness after the interval, which kept on hovering until a decent climax.

One Malayalam Movie Review

Mammooty as the CM shines all through the way along with some decent performances by Joju George and Murali Gopi. Gopi Sundar, as usual is the master of BGMs.

This ONE could be a one time watch for its theme, which needs to be discussed. Right to Recall, just like RECALL, an instrument of Direct Democracy, gives the citizens an extra power to recall their elected representatives if they prove unworthy. Taking the picture of India in concern, isn't time for the legislature to introduce this right to it's citizens, considering the fact that India is no more an infant democracy, as it was during the time, when this idea came into debate? Won't it be a boon to the citizens, to rectify the mistake of electing wrong candidates? Won't it be a perfect tool to battle against the hate mongering leaders in our nation, by stripping them off their powers?  We, the citizens, should really need to think about it.
