What If Episode 5- A Zombie Apocayplse

So Finally, One of the most awaited episodes of Marvel's What If Episode 5 was aired on Disney+Hotstar and whole reaction was simply OMG.

    [SPOILER ALERT]

The plot of What If Episode 5 starts at the beginning of Dr. Banner crash landing the Sanctum Sanctorum, as we have seen in Infinity war. But the incident that led to the Zombie Apocalypse begins the moment Dr. Pym goes to Quantum Realm in search of Janet Van Dyne. This was the event that led to What If were instead of adapting herself, Janet gets infected due to Quantum Realm which starts a chain reaction, as usually seen in Zombie movies, along with hank Pym. While we have seen in Episode 3 of a world without The Avengers, here we come across a world of Superhero Zombies. The rest of the plot is about the survival and the efforts to find a cure..... Really?

What If, literally delves into the question as mentioned in the title in every episode and it meant more after the first episode. Like The Watcher says about the prism of possibilities on the change of slightest of decision, every episode has spread itself to weirdest of the possibilities. But of all the 5 episodes, Zombie Apocalypse is an extremely different attempt, just like the previous Episode 4 where Dr. Strange lost his heart instead of hand.

Now let's have a look at what makes What If Zombie Apocalypse, A crazy MCU Zombie Apocalypse:-

1. Zombie Renaissance:- The usual Zombies would only stick on attacking and eating the living saints, What If present a set of Zombies who still carry every super hero skill and power that they held, prior to becoming undead. Of course, we have come across the set of intelligent Zombies other than the usual undead in movies like Army of the Dead, here we see the protecting skills turning into a deadly weapon to satisfy the hunger, which is exceptionally explored.

2. Zombie Love:- Just like we saw in Wanda Vision, where Wanda was ready to go any extent for getting Vision back, here we come across Vision who goes to an extent even to sacrifice his mates to feed Wanda, A Zombie Wanda. But there is one thing both disheartening and funny, Why the hell should Vision always die? 

  

3. Zombie Violence:- We have heard about R- Rating story of The Avengers because of including a gruesome, violent death scene of Agent Coulson. But here we come across not just gruesome, but a visual porn of violence. Tony Stark, Falcon, Happy, Agent Sharon Carter and even Steve Rogers. Thanks to the OTT launch and the animated feature, where ratings are practically immaterial. But a question popped up out of curiosity. Why the Super Soldier serum in Captain America's body didn't neutralize the zombie virus, when it did even to the Asgardian Liquor, seen in Age of Ultron?

4. Zombie Responsibility:-  One of the best part of the series comes as cloak of levitation. We have seen in Doctor Strange (2016) movie about the way cloak of levitation choses Stephen Strange. But in What If Episode 5, the cloak comes for the rescue by attacking not only Zombie Stark but also the Sorcerer Supreme Zombie Strange, which eventually foreshadows the lose of connection between Strange and the cloak. It is when the cloak comes for protecting Spiderman from Zombies, it chooses Peter Parker as its holder, though in the end it helps Antman escape the scene to fly.

5. Zombie Cleansing:- A cliffhanger ending of a Zombie Thanos waiting for the mind-stone at Wakandan soil after conquering it, in his famous gauntlet fist clinching pose. It would have been a feast to watch what Zombie Thanos dream of accomplishing with all the mind-stones, as his concept of genocide was on living people who consumed a planet's resources and Zombies don't need resources, I Hope.

Anyhow, with 4 more episodes to closure, we can expect more of the mind blending realities that branched out because of a different decision or a different situation. But just before our closure, a question is popping out again. What If these realities of the animated episodes become a part of the multi-versal mania that the finale of Loki has exposed us to, as the future projects are related to Multiverse of Madness, RIGHT?
